July 14, Tuesday, 7:00 pm - August Red-tails:
Red-tailed Hawk Natal Dispersal at Braddock Bay - Let's
get ready for Red-tails!! Late summer is
the season when young hawks are out and about searching for
their own territories before fall migration. Each year,
thousands of Red-tailed hawks fly past Braddock Bay during the
month of August. This unique occurrence has provided much
opportunity to study and learn about this wonderful raptor.
The presentation will show what BBRR has done to study this
movement, including information on banding research that has
been conducted. We'll show you how far these hawks travel,
how long they live, and what challenges they face for survival.
AUGUST RED-TAIL DAYS- Friday, August 21 - KIDS DAY!
and Saturday, August 22 - For ALL!
Full program and craft show details will be
posted soon.
